Youth

Dhaatri engages with Adivasi and Rural Youth to connect natural resource rights and gender equality. We believe that youth leadership and collective actions can be strong catalytic change agents for communities. Creating spaces for youth voices and intergenerational learning exchange is an enriching ground for democratizing the governance of natural resources and sustainable futures.

Our latest initiative, the Youth Eco-Feminist Community Action Course, aims to engage Adivasi and Dalit youth by providing a platform for dialogue on culture, constitutional rights, and identity through a gender-sensitive lens, empowering them to become change agents in their communities despite multiple challenges they face. The programme addresses the limited opportunities for higher education and deeper engagement with theory and practice for these communities. The positive and encouraging response from the first batch of 15 participants underscores their eagerness to learn and engage with diverse topics, fostering a rich exchange of experiences and challenges within the group.

Youth Community Leadership

We engage with youth in forest and mining regions, focusing on nurturing leadership skills, intergenerational knowledge practices, and their rights. Recognising the specific challenges faced by adolescents in these areas, including issues related to migration, education, social security, and women's safety, we facilitate workshops and exchanges. These events bring together youth from diverse regions to encourage dialogue, foster a sense of community, and promote awareness of youth rights.
