IWD 2026: Sahariya Women Rally for Safe Livelihoods Beyond Mining

Adivasi Sahariya women from families affected by indiscriminate mining impacts in Ganj Basoda, Madhya Pradesh, took out a rally and met district officials on the occasion of International Women's Day. They submitted representations for employment guarantee in rehabilitating their villages as alternatives to mine labour. They face severe problems of labour and water crisis that escalate in summer.

We thank SDM Smt Anubha Jain for her promise to ensure employment guarantee and drinking water in the coming days. This has given much hope to the women, and we look forward to continued cooperation with the Vidisha district administration.
