Breaking Taboos and Building Safe Spaces

Our team recently conducted a hands-on workshop on Menstrual Hygiene Management with schoolgirls at an Ashram school in Telangana’s Adilabad district.

Menstruation is a completely natural part of growing up, yet it is often surrounded by silence and misconceptions. This session was all about changing that by creating an open, supportive space where young girls can discuss health, hygiene, and wellness without hesitation.

Together, we focused on:

  • Dispelling common myths and cultural taboos.

  • Promoting safe and practical hygiene practices.

  • Giving girls the confidence and knowledge to understand and care for their bodies.

This initiative is a vital part of our ongoing commitment to creating safe, encouraging environments where young adolescents can take charge of their health and well-being.

A big thank you to the school faculty and our local coordinators for supporting this initiative and prioritising health education in the classrooms!
