Sahariya Women Secure Water Infrastructure for Shankargarh

For too long, the Sahariya women of Shankargarh in Vidisha, Madhya Pradesh, had to walk two kilometres every day just to fetch water from a well. Supported by Dhaatri team on the ground, the women actively demanded a solution. They consistently wrote letters to the SDM and relentlessly followed up on the MP CM Helpline.

Their persistence paid off. A new water pump has finally been installed in the village.

While it is just one basic infrastructure update, having water nearby brings immense daily relief to these families. Seeing the women of Shankargarh come together and secure this basic necessity for their community is incredibly encouraging.
