ABOUT DHAATRI

OUR VISION
Established in 2007, Dhaatri works alongside Adivasi women on women-led conservation of natural resources and women’s formal and collective entitlements to their land, forests and participation in governance. We believe that ecological harmony is rooted in Adivasi women's voices, perspectives, and ancestral wisdom. We also believe that overcoming gender-based violence and to achieve gender equality, ecological governance should be centred around women’s tenurial rights, decision-making on resource governance and access to skills, resources, and information. Our core focus is supporting women to actively participate in local decision-making and to build dialogues with governance institutions on their basic entitlements and through women-led models of coexistence. We work with children and youth for breaking the web of intergenerational marginalisation and for strengthening intergenerational ecological wisdom and knowledge.
